Bob Saget has Lori Loughlin’s back.
The comedian, who co-starred on the long-running sitcom “Full House” with Loughlin, told Page Six that he texted the actress “a couple of weeks ago.”
In August, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in federal prison for her role in a college admissions scandal which also ensnared “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman. She also has to pay a hefty $250,000 fine and complete 250 hours of community service.
Saget, 63, told us he texted the befallen star, “I love you and thinking of you, that’s all.”
“And you know when it gets down to it, there’s so much going on and so many people have gone through so much and you know … if you love somebody then you have to make that, decision and [ask yourself] is this something that causes me not to love a person and I love her. She’s a sweetheart.”
On Sunday, October 18, Saget will be co-hosting the annual “Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine” event which this year will be broadcast online due to the coronavirus pandemic. The annual event raises money for the Scleroderma Research Foundation, a charity that is near and dear to his heart. Saget’s sister, Gay, died of the disease in 1994.
The event has an impressive lineup of comics including Bill Burr, Nikki Glaser, Howie Mandel, Sarah Silverman, and Jack Black. Also making appearances will be Saget’s two best friends, John Mayer and John Stamos.
And they are also offering some unique auction items like the chance to have Stamos read a bedtime story or join Joel McHale and Saget doing vodka shots in a Zoom party which Saget promises that the pair “will get sloppy drunk with a stranger.”
The often risqué comedian promises he’s going to rein it in for the event.
“A soft R or a strong PG13 where you’re allowed two f–ks,” he explained with a laugh.
