- She was made to walk around the neighborhood with a bucket and pick up trash
Britney Spears has recalled the moment her mom Lynne forced her to pick up trash as a punishment for sneaking out of school to meet the teenage boy she lost her virginity to at the age of 14.
In her bombshell new memoir, The Woman In Me, the 41-year-old recounted being caught skipping school in order to see a boy, while detailing the subsequent punishment given to her by her mom.
According to the singer, her mother, now 68, was left furious at discovering that her daughter had been missing out on her education in order to spend time with a much older boy – something that she learned when Britney’s brother Bryan told on her.
She revealed that Lynne forced her to ‘pick up trash… like a prisoner’ – while her older sibling gleefully snapped pictures of her as she completed her punishment.
In the book, Britney also admitted she developed crushes on several boys who were years older than her while she was at school, recalling some pivotal moments in her first sexual relationships.
‘One night I was sleeping at my “bad” friend’s house. With no warning, the guy I had a crush on snuck into the house in the middle of the night – it must have been three in the morning,’ an excerpt from the book, which is released on October 24, read.

The singer recounted the punishment, which involved her walking around the neighborhood picking up trash while her brother followed her and took photos
‘I was sleeping on the couch, and I woke up to him sitting next to me,’ she continued. ‘He started kissing me, and then we were fully making out on the couch.’
The songstress goes on to explain her shock over the boy’s interest in her, describing the moment ‘like a séance’ because it felt as though she had ‘conjured him’.
‘I couldn’t believe my crush had just appeared out of nowhere and started making out with me,’ she went on – before noting that the ‘sweet’ experience didn’t move on past kissing.
Britney also recalled developing a crush on her brother’s friends in the ninth grade, remembering one boy in particular who was three years older than her.
‘That year I liked a lot of the boys in my brother’s crowd,’ she said. ‘As a kid, Bryan [my brother] was funny – weird, in the best way. But when he was a senior he became the king of the school, an absolute bad a**.
‘His senior year, I started dating his best friend. I lost my virginity to him,’ she continued, adding she was ‘young’ for the ninth grade and the guy was 17.
She continued, explaining how she used to sneak out and meet her boyfriend during the school day, admitting the relationship, ‘ended up consuming a lot of [her] time,’ and she had missed multiple days of school after forging her mother’s signature.
‘I would go to school like normal at 7 a.m. but leave at lunchtime, around one p.m., and spend the afternoon with him,’ she said.
‘Then he would drive me back right as school was getting out. I’d just innocently get on the bus and go home like nothing happened,’ she recalled.
Britney recalled having crushes on boys much older than her, writing about a time she was sleeping over at a friend’s house and her crush came over, saying he woke her up and they started ‘fully making out’ on the couch
The singer developed crushes on her older brother Bryan’s friends, and she went on to lose her virginity to one, which prompted Bryan to tell their parents
As a punishment for sneaking out to meet the boy, Britney said she had to walk around the neighborhood all day with a bucket, cleaning up garbage like a prisoner on the highway
However, her mom eventually found out what was happening, after the school called her, letting her know that Britney had missed a total of 17 days.
‘The age difference between me and this guy was huge – obviously – now it seems outrageous,’ the pop star admitted.
‘So my brother, who was always very protective, started to hate him,’ she continued.
‘When Bryan caught me sneaking out to go visit his friend, he told on me to our parents.’
‘As a punishment, I had to walk around the neighborhood all day with a bucket, cleaning up garbage like a prisoner on the highway,’ the singer remembered.
‘Bryan followed me around taking pictures as, crying, I picked up trash,’ she said.
Britney shared a lengthy note about the attention surrounding her book to Instagram past week.
‘I don’t like the headlines I am reading,’ she wrote in black font against a stark white background.
‘My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means,’ the note continued. ‘That was me then. That is in the past.’

The singer (pictured in 2000) revealed she had an abortion at age 19 because Justin Timberlake ‘wasn’t ready to be a father’
‘Most of the book is from 20 years ago,’ she went on. ‘I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here !!!’
The pop star added: ‘I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life !!! Either way, that is the last of it and s*** happens !!!’
In the autobiography, the Circus singer exposes her fraught relationships with her ex Justin Timberlake, her parents Jamie and Lynn and her younger sister Jamie Lynn, whom she accused of having been a ‘total b****’ at the age of 11.
The excerpts of the book seen by several outlets, the star revealed she had an abortion at age 19 because Justin Timberlake ‘wasn’t ready to be a father.’
She wrote wanted the baby and ‘dreamed of having a family’ with Justin, who was also 19 at the time, he ultimately ‘wasn’t ready’ for the responsibilities of fatherhood.
‘It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,’ she wrote in an excerpt obtained by People.
‘He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.
‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.’
