Cardi B Visits Her Former Middle School In Bronx And Give A $100,000 Donation

Cardi B is an American rapper and songwriter. She is known for her aggressive flow and candid lyrics.

Cardi B visited her old middle school in New York City, where she showed off her checkbook and told students how much money they’d make in their careers.

Cardi B hit up I.S. 232 in the Morris Heights neighborhood of New York City Tuesday morning as a surprise to the students and principal. She did 3 years there, 6th grade through 8th, and we’re told her visit came as a complete surprise to the students and principal.

Cardi B had a surprise visit to the school, during which she talked with students about their favorite part of school, favorite teacher and some sage life advice.

Cardi also answered a couple of questions from the students and at the end of her visit presented I.S. 232 with a $100,000 donation that she wants to see go towards after-school programs, including tutoring and music/dance.

Chancellor David C. Banks also posted on his twitter account, “We are thrilled to welcome Cardi B back home to IS 232 #InTheBronx, and we are so grateful for her generous contribution to her alma mater. Cardi B’s commitment of $100K for the arts will help the school’s kids soar to their highest heights. Thank you, Cardi!”

Students and teachers were stunned when Cardi announced the donation, which left them in tears.

“I’m extremely proud to be from the Bronx and I have lots of family and friends who live and work there still,” Cardi said. “So when I heard about the fire and all of the victims, I knew I needed to do something to help.”

She continued, “I was looking at some areas. The way that the prices soar up…like how are people surviving? I want to know. My family and my friends, they’re so grateful to have me, but it’s just like, what happens to people who don’t have me?”

Back in 2019, Cardi hopped on Instagram to give her followers a glimpse of her pre-fame life, as the Bronx native looked back at her 2006 middle school yearbook.

“In the beginning, I used to call myself Bacardi, that’s where I got Cardi B from,” Cardi shared while reading some of the comments left from her friends. “To Belcalis, you’re such a crazy and funny n***a. Good luck, you’re gonna be something big in the future,” read one. Cardi responded, “Bitch wasn’t lying.”
