Do Harry And Meghan Regret Doing Their Many Interviews?

It’s been a little over a week since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their second child — Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor — on Friday, June 4. The happy couple announced the birth of their daughter the following Sunday, and made sure to say, “Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family” (via Archewell). While this is a joyous occasion for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the two have found themselves embroiled in some royal family drama as of late.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan decided to step away from their royal duties, they’ve been more open about what it was like actually living in the U.K. Back in March, when it was first announced that the couple was expecting a daughter, the two did a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey (via CBS News). The now infamous Oprah interview caused an even bigger rift between the couple and the royal family, especially between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.

While Harry has made it known on the Archewell site that he has left “an opening for reconciliation and healing,” there is a lot of doubt as to whether or not that can happen (via The Daily Beast). Even royal author Ingrid Seward believes “you can’t repair a relationship overnight” (via the Daily Mirror).

Harry and Meghan have 'no regrets'

After the big Oprah interview in March, Prince Harry made headlines again for speaking out against the way he was raised in the Apple TV+ docuseries “The Me You Can’t See” (via Forbes). In this new tell-all interview, Harry said there is a cycle of “pain and suffering” within the royal family that he wanted to break by leaving, according to the BBC. This second round of interviews really drove an even bigger wedge between Harry and his family. Now that both Harry and Meghan have had some time to reflect on the past few months and all the drama surrounding them, you might be wondering if they regret doing their first interview with Oprah.

While the two are now trying to “keep the peace” within the royal family after the birth of Lilibet, it seems they have “no regrets” for doing their interviews, as an insider told the Daily Mail. After being “at war with the royals” this past year, the couple now just wants to focus on their new family of four.

According to Vanity Fair, a source close to the couple has said that the birth of Lilibet is “like a clean slate — almost like a new beginning” for them. The source also said that “this baby solidifies that they are creating roots here in the States” and feeling at home. While there is a lot of work to be done to mend relationships, it seems Harry and Meghan are finally trying to move on.
