The Bafta TV Awards this year produced some knockout beauty looks, but winning in the hair and makeup stakes is Dr Who star Billie Piper.
The actress hit the red carpet with a 80s-style beauty look, complete with an oversized scrunchie, long fringe sections, a perm-like hair texture, and lashings of black eyeliner. All that was missing was a jukebox and a bit of Duran Duran blasting out.
The nod to the 80s wasn’t missed by fans either, with a few Twitter users likening Billie’s look to Jennifer Garner’s high-school prom look from the classic rom-com 13 going on 30.
“Billie Piper is really giving me 80s prom / 13 going on 30 vibes and I am so here for it,” one user commented.
Another said: “Happy Billie Piper sweeping the baftas day.”
Billie’s look certainly does have a bit of a Jenna Rink feel to it – Jennifer’s character in the hit movie. Though, we’re happy to see the braces and thick fringe have been tactfully avoided.
Billie is yet to post a snap of her Bafta look to her Instagram grid, but her makeup artist Heidi North did kindly share the details of her beauty look in a very life-like sketch, detailing the full kit of Lancôme she used on the star.
The actress’ blemish-free base was achieved with the help of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24H Foundation, £34.50 here, and her 80s liner look was created with Lancôme Crayon Kohl, £19 here.
Though Billie’s vintage glam certainly stole the night, she wasn’t the only one to cause a stir on the Bafta catwalk last night. Gogglebox’s Ellie Warner also surprised fans with a bold purple hair look that she claims was inspired by Violet Beauregard from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
“Best colour yet. Love it,” said one Instagram fan, who commented their praise under a snap of Ellie with her new bright hue.
Another raved: “You look incredible Ellie, your hair really suits you. It's beautiful.”
She almost makes us want to go for a bold look this summer!
