Everyone loves a McDonald’s every so often, but for health and financial reasons we can’t always order the treat food.
And, one of the most beloved Maccie's dishes is their McNuggets.
The crispy, salty chicken pieces are perfect dipped into your favourite sauce for lunch or even dinner with the kids.
So, how can you enjoy the delicious nugs on the cheap?
Well, a high school teacher from Australia has shared her recipe for home made chicken nuggets on a Facebook cooking group.
And, foodies were thrilled with the results.
What's your favourite dish to cook at home? Let us know in the comments…
The woman wrote: “Last night I challenged myself to create what some in this group had attempted but never seemed to nail – the iconic six pack ‘o’ nuggs and sweet and sour dipping sauce.
“Like I honestly don’t think I’ve ever made chicken this yum before.”
The home cook rated the nuggets nine out of 10 for taste and looks.
To make the dish, the woman coated chopped up chicken breast in flour three times in a sandwich bag filled with flour, salt, Vegeta spice (£1.29 at Asda), garlic powder, onion powder and pepper.
Put the chicken in the freezer in between coatings – this allows the flour to sink in and become wetter so that the next layer sticks.
The woman also made sweet and sour sauce by mixing apricot jam, garlic powder, onion powder, soy sauce, mustard, white wine vinegar, glucose syrup and cornflour.
Then reduced the sauce over the hob and blitzed it.
Reviewing her dish, the woman wrote: “All in all, lots of success was had in the kitchen last night.
“There’s nothing like the feeling of almost nailing a nugg – I’m on top of the world today.
“I’m showing all my kids at school (I’m a high school teacher) and it’s giving me a new found cred.”
How good does that sound?
