DEAR DEIDRE: I LOST my partner to a rare form of cancer just before the coronavirus outbreak and I’m finding it so tough without her.
We didn’t live together but spent a lot of time at one another’s houses.

She was very popular and there were 200-plus people at her funeral. She was 60 and I’m a man of 63. The clothes I wear she chose for me.
I have countless photographs of us during happy times on holiday. I now have her dog living with me.
The dog is company but a constant reminder of the love I lost.
I contemplate suicide at times but know I won’t go through with it. Will I ever feel any better?
DEIDRE SAYS: You will get better but it might take a long time. Lockdown has felt especially tough to those who have found themselves newly and sadly alone.
The reminders of her will become less painful and more of a comfort as time goes on. Reach out to family and friends and plan contact into every day.
