She reads ‘I just matched with my dead wife on Tinder. I had numbly swiped left so many times in a row I almost missed it, I wish I had.

‘My wife Alison has been dead for two full years yet there she was on Tinder, smiling at me in a photo I’d never seen.
‘I skimmed through her profile, there was no writing but three other pictures of my dead wife I’d never seen before including one with the statue of Liberty behind her even though I knew she’d never been to New York City, at least to my knowledge.
‘I swiped right and breathed for the first time in nearly two minutes.
‘I struggled to sleep for the next 48 hours, never getting a match, ready to message Tinder and tell them someone was impersonating my beloved dead wife on the app and doing some kind of magical photoshop to put in her pictures.’
Continuing with the man’s story, she said ‘The match came at 3:33am. It came with a message, just a simple ‘hi’.
‘I mashed the letters on my phone as hard and fast as I could – who is this? why are you doing this? where did you get these pictures of my wife, she died of cervical cancer two years ago you monster.’
The man then waited for another 24 hours before getting an answer, which came in the middle of the night reading ‘Derek, I miss you. I’m sorry for what happened’.
The podcast host read ‘But she died of natural causes, she in no way could have controlled and was I supposed to believe that my dead wife’s spirit decided to inhabit a Tinder profile and hit me up on it?’

Derek then got another message ‘are you home? I’m outside?’ and ‘let me in please’ with Suzie reading that his ‘blood ran cold’.
‘Someone had to be f****** about with me but who would be this impossibly cruel and diabolical – there may have been a couple people who didn’t like me at work but no one would go anywhere near this far.
The hosts then reveal that the man got another message reading ‘nevermind I got in,’ prompting them to scream in terror.
Suzie continued to read ‘I heard the front door of my house close and I tightened up in bed – another message ‘you’re on Tinder too soon Derry’ the pet name only the two of use between each other.
‘The logistics of who knew that name flashed through my head as I heard footsteps approach my bedroom door.
The man got a new message reading ‘you were supposed to mourn me, not f*** 23-year-old’s on Tinder’.
Adding ‘It was even following Alison’s quirk to impeccably punctuate any kind of message.
‘I spoke finally ‘Alison, I’m sorry, I love you, I miss you. I’ve been sick to my stomach for two years but I had to move on.’
‘I could sense someone out there on the other side of the door, then I heard footsteps walk away.
‘I walked outside to the front door and looked outside, there were no signs of life – I went back to my phone in the bedroom, Alison’s profile had been deleted.’
Commenters were horrified by the spooky story, with one person writing ‘This isn’t real right???’ with shocked emojis.
Someone else added ‘that’s why my husband and I have a secret after death password’.
A person who claimed to have been through a similar experience commented ‘My late partner put a song on on Amazon pkaylist. Also, changed my Pinterest account to a pet name only we knew. I believe this 100%’.
Others said ‘Derek needs to update a part two cos I’m too invested now’ and ‘333am is not a good sign’.
