I’m so bored on furlough I cheated on my girlfriend and met someone for sex

DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER six months on furlough I’m so bored.

My girlfriend, who’s 26, works full-time while I’m at home all day. I tried filling my day with DIY but still find myself kicking my heels.

I got into the bad habit of cruising hook-up apps.

At first I was only chatting but last week I agreed to meet someone for sex.

It lasted just 15 minutes and I felt full of regret as soon as it was over.

Should I tell my lovely woman or live with the guilt?

I am 29 and this was the worst mistake of my life.

DEIDRE SAYS: Telling her might unburden you of the guilt but would heap misery on her shoulders.

You sound genuinely remorseful, so focus on making your relationship as strong as possible and make a pact with yourself to not stray again.

Also, you broke distancing rules and risk spreading coronavirus, which is another reason to put a stop to any further infidelity.

Read my leaflets Feeling Guilty and Can’t Be Faithful – and remember how you felt straight after your infidelity.

You do not want to relive that moment.
