Coronation Street fan favourite Nick Tilsley has been a staple part of the show since he arrived on the cobbles in 1981.

The part of Nick was first heard of when he was born off-screen during an episode in 1980, and he was then played by Warren Jackson between 1981 until 1996.

Then, Ben Price, 48, took over the part in 2009 and he has become something of a household name as a result.

He told dailystar.co.uk: “I only left to go back to my kids, so I took them to school and made packed lunches and became a dad, and didn’t think about Nick Tilsley or the Street.

“I was a stay-at-home dad. It’s pretty unglamorous, it’s just life.”

And despite being on our screens most nights, Ben doesn’t let his kids watch.

He told Mirror.co.uk: “I think it’s healthy they don’t watch it. It would be too much otherwise. I’m very proud of the choice of not letting them watch it.”
