Jennifer Lawrence was first spotted out and about with New York City-based art gallerist Cooke Maroney and wed him a year later. But how much do we know how they first met and who he really is?
The Oscar winning actress and art gallery director are reported to have tied the knot in front of 150 guests at a Rhode Island venue in October 2019.
She wore a stunning Dior dress which was an obvious choice as she is the face of the brand’s ‘Joy’ perfume.
A-lists guests included Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Adele, Amy Schumer, Kris Jenner, Sienna Miller, and Cameron Diaz.
The couple met each other through mutual friends and were first romantically linked in 2018. Cooke is the director of the Gladstone Gallery in New York and previously worked at the prestigious Gagosian Gallery.
In June of that year, Jennifer revealed on Catt Sadler’s NAKED With Cat Sandler podcast that she knew Cooke was the one. "I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully.
Who is Cooke Maroney?
"He’s my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and you’re like you can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer."
Art gallerist Cooke, 37, has followed in his father’s footsteps as he was an art dealer in Manhattan and previously served as the Head of American Paintings at Christie’s before deciding to opt for a simpler way of life.
Cooke’s father James Maroney and his mother Suki Fredericks own a farm in Vermont where Cooke grow up. They are believed to have grown tired of life in the city and decided to move up north to start a farm. Cooke has a younger sister called Annabelle.
Although Cooke is in the art world, he is an incredibly private person and is not on Facebook or Twitter. His private Instagram page is just shy of 2000 followers.

Before marrying Cooke, Jennifer had enjoyed a romance with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Her longest relationship was with actor and co-star Nicholas Hoult. They met on the set of X-Men First Class in 2010 and enjoyed an on/off five-year relationship. Unlike her previous relationships that were conducted in the public eye, Jennifer has tried to keep her romance with Cooke as private as possible.
The 31-year-old previously described Cooke as the "greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honoured to become a Maroney."
Jennifer recently displayed her growing baby bump whilst strolling through the streets of New York. Wearing floral dungarees, she looked relaxed and content walking before stopping for a bite to eat with a friend.
