Is This The Real Reason Prince Harry Is Writing A Memoir?

Prince Harry officially announced his memoir this week. The Duke of Sussex released a statement revealing that he planned to write a book about his life, and fans are already buzzing about what bombshells may be included. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Harry discussed his intention behind the project, expressing that he wants to share his story with the world.

“I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become,” he stated. “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.” He went on to say that he is extremely “grateful” for the chance to share his story, and for people to hear a “firsthand account” of his life that is true and authentic.

Of course, not everyone is buying Harry’s comments. Royal expert Robert Jobson told the Daily Mail that he feels Harry is looking to stir up controversy with the memoir. “Harry is already hugely rich and famous so apart from damaging his family — which a book like this will inevitably do, I am not sure what he is trying to achieve. Whatever he says will lead to conflict,” the author stated. So, why is Harry really writing the tell-all book?

Prince Harry wants to tell his truth within the new memoir

According to Page Six, Prince Harry isn’t writing the book to get under the skin of his royal family members. Instead, the Duke of Sussex feels like he’s simply telling his “truth,” which could include his thoughts about the royal lifestyle, the feelings he had about his mother’s untimely death, his marriage to Meghan Markle, and much more. Sources told the outlet that Harry isn’t deliberately trying to hurt his family, including his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William. Instead, he wants his voice and story to be heard and dispel any misinformation about his life.

However, royal insiders aren’t so sure about Harry’s motives. One source told the Daily Mail that Harry may write something damaging about his family members, including his stepmother, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. “Let’s be honest, Harry has never been close to the Duchess of Cornwall. If he documents their fraught relationship in the book it could be very damaging at a time when Charles is laying the groundwork for her to become queen,” the insider said.

Meanwhile, the royal family is said to be less than thrilled with Harry’s decision to write the tell-all book. Even his close family members, such as Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, are said to be concerned about the project. Harry’s memoir is set to drop in late 2022, and will likely be a must-read for any royal family enthusiast.
