Over this past year we have seen one accessory become our best friend (even though some don’t like them), and that is none other than our trusty face masks.

With no thanks to Covid, we have seen these pieces of fabric become the must-have item over the past year as we worked together to reduce the spread of the virus.

One lady that we have seen embrace this new addition is none other than Kate Middleton, who has made coordinating our masks to our outfits look so effortless.

Whether it’s opting for a simple black one or a fancy floral mask, Kate’s always seem to fit her so well and we’ve found out why.

When it comes to pairing a mask with her outfits, Kate simply gets them in children’s sizes.

This is so The Duchess can combat any embarrassing saggy, ill-fitting masks, even though we’re certain she’d still look flawless as always.

When shopping for her masks we have seen Kate sport various different brands, however her favourite seems to be kidswear brand Amaia.

From spring inspired floral patterns to smart striped options, the brand caters for everyone's needs as they also sell adult options too.

Each mask is not only reusable but they also come with a built-in filter to allow for extra protection.

But what we love most about the brand is that 30% from each sale gets donated to NHS Charities Together.

Proving how effective ‘the Kate effect’ truly is, sales for floral masks went through the roof after she wore a gorgeous red floral one last year.

Not only does Kate size down, but she also uses the trick of twisting the straps of medical masks into a figure eight around her ear to stop them from gaping at the sides.

So as usual, we’ll definitely be taking yet more inspiration from Kate with her nifty hack of downsizing.

Whether it’s a style trick or style inspiration, The Duchess never fails to amaze us.
