Kim Kardashians new Skims faux nipple bra is causing a big Internet debate

Kim Kardashian has built her SKIMS shapewear brand up to be both trusted and recommended by celebs, models and normal women who praise it for offering practical and high-quality undergarment solutions for all shapes and sizes.

Practical, however, isn't a word that many are using to describe Kim's new launch under the SKIMS brand: a faux nipple bra that the star jokingly (we think) claims: "No matter how hot it is, you'll always look cold" while wearing it.

Officially dubbed the Nipple Push-Up Bra, the design launches today to much excitement and bemusement. The official SKIMS website is still currently showing the product as a waitlist item, but when it goes live later today you'll be able to snap one up for £53 here in a choice of six shades to suit a range of different skin tones.

"Coming Oct 31: The Ultimate Nipple Bra. Perfect fullness with a built-in, faux nipple for shock factor – meet the newest innovation to our Ultimate Bra collection," Kim captions the clip announcing the new product launch on her own Instagram page.

"In addition to our investment in advancing carbon removal, SKIMS is proud to donate 10% of sales from our SKIMS Ultimate Nipple Bra, as a one-time donation, to @1percentftp – a global network with thousands of businesses and environmental organizations working together to support people and the planet."

As you might have expected, news of this faux nipple launch has divided the Internet, with opinion being split on whether the idea is 'genius' or a 'joke'…

"She lost her mind. Is this a joke?" asks one Instagram follower, while a second notes: "Most times that’s literally the only reason I put one on is to cover those up".

A third chimes in with: "Am I the only one that’s always trying to hide the nipples instead of showing them off?"

A fourth, however, shares a different opinion, writing: "This is hitting breast cancer baddies differently. Thank you!"

"I’m sure people who had mastectomies would appreciate this," agrees a fifth.

So, what do you think: a genius new invention that the underwear world needed, or a clever marketing idea from Kim (or Kris Jenner)?
