A VIRGIN Media customer has saved almost £700 on their TV and broadband package after haggling with the firm.
Money Saving Expert reader Bryn said he managed to negotiate his monthly bill down more than £35 a month.
Over the 18 months of his contract, pensioner Bryn will save an incredible £680, according to the latest MSE newsletter.
Bryn wrote: "Following Martin's advice to haggle, I rang Virgin. Now saving £680 over the 18-month contract.
"It all helps when you're a pensioner. Thanks."
Bryn's total saving is almost £38 each month – a pretty penny regardless of your financial situation.
The Martin Lewis-founded website estimates 83% of Virgin Media customers who negotiated their price down made savings.
And even if you're not a Virgin Media customer, haggling can be your best friend if you want to save on your broadband and TV package.

Consumer champion Helen Dewdney told The Sun last month: “Usually, if you threaten to leave a company you’ll get communication with an offer.
"However, you can get even better if you negotiate.
"Ask for what the best they can offer is and if you develop a good rapport, try haggling further with another suggestion.
"Usually, they will offer set packages but they may be able to throw in a product such as a Wi-Fi booster.”
