Shoppers think this £28 & Other Stories perfume smells like Baccarat Rouge’s £235 scent
When it comes to perfumes, there’s nothing better than a scent thats both luxurious and long-lasting whilst still leaving you smelling gorgeous.
One of the most coveted fragrances at the moment is Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Edp Spray, £235 here, which has become something of a viral sensation afterRihannarevealed it was one of her all time favourite go-to perfumes, with Olivia Rodrigo also being known to wear the fragrance.
Although it was first released back in 2014, it recently shot to cult favourite status and is now one of the most coveted perfumes in the world, despite its eye-wateringly high price tag, costing £235 for just 70ml.
Although there’s nothing quite like the original, its popularity has since spawned plenty of dupes that claim to smell just like it, with Zara’s Red Temptation, £22 here, being known as one of the closest alternatives you can get.
However, there’s another perfume on the market that features many of the same notes and is said to smell just like Baccarat Rouge.
& Other Stories Déjà Vu Mood Eau de Toilette, £28 here, has top notes of wild raspberry, jaboticaba and elemi, heart notes of jasmine sambac, blue cyclamen, and saffron flower, and base notes that include ambroxan, driftwoods and cotton candy, which give it a sweet, floral scent with earthy, woody notes that stop it from being too sickly.
Comparatively, the luxury Baccarat Rouge is known for its top notes of jasmine and saffron, middle notes of amberwood, and base notes of fir resin and cedar, which give it a similarly woody and sweet smell without being too heavy.
Although it might not be enough to sway die-hard Baccarat Rouge fans, it’s the perfect affordable alternative to the designer version for those who want the scent without splashing out.
& Other Stories shoppers have also been sharing their love for the Déjà Vu Mood Eau de Toilette, £28 here, with one review reading: “Smells way more expensive than it is,” whilst another said: “An absolute must have! It's sweet, but not too sweet. I wear it for work and always get lots of compliments, people asking me daily where I bought it from. The scent lasts as well, definitely recommend.”
You only need to head to TikTok to find other dupes for Bacarat Rouge, withone video from Makeup Shaylaracking up more than 100K likes after she called Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 68 Perfume Mist, £28 here (was £35), the ‘perfect dupe’ for the luxury perfume.
Other fans flocked to the comments with their own dupes that they’d found, with Ariana Grande Cloud, £27 here (was £30), also being one of the most popular affordable alternatives.
We might not be splashing out £235 on perfume any time soon, but with this many alternatives to choose from, we reckon we’ve just found out new autumn scent.
