Sweet moment Kate Middleton skips ahead of father’s group on a ‘Dad’s walk’ to hold the gate open while they push their prams

A very helpful Princess of Wales headed in front of a dad’s group to hold a gate open while the father’s pushed their prams through.

Kate, 41, offered a helping hand to the parents during a visit to an organisation that supports fathers in north London.

The mother-of-three, 41, took part in a ‘Dad Walk’ – an initiative put forward by the group to help new parents feel more equipped for parenthood.

As they approached the park gate in Arnos Grove, Kate made a sweet move as she jumped to hold the gate open for group members.

The princess also showed her natural ease with the children while walking through a typically rainy London.

Founded in 2020, the Dadvengers group aims to provide the same support offered to mothers with a focus on mental health aid.

‘Dad Walks’ are an essential part of the campaign, given that strolling through fresh air is known to ease mental health problems and boost serotonin.

The royal gladly took part in one of the walks and accompanied fathers to the park in Arnos Grove.

Kate looked chic for the occasion in a £725 Erdem ‘Lotus’ Striped Cashmere Sweater, which she has worn on several occasions.

Ideally dressed for the rainy weather, the royal mother-of-three paired the look with dark blue jeans and another re-worn £200 khaki Barbour jacket and Blundstone Chelsea boots.

As the group headed towards the playground, Kate made a sweet gesture as she held the park gate open for group members.

One father remarked: ‘Lovely, thank you so much,’ following Kate’s charming move.

After the first fathers were through the gate, another member took over as Kate continued her conversation.

‘Dadvengers’ regularly partake in ‘Dad Walks’ and aim to highlight the important role that Dads play in their children’s earliest years 

Founded in 2020, the Dadvengers group aims to provide the same support offered to mothers with a focus on mental health aid, with a key component being community walks 

Once in the park, the group enjoyed their play time, and children’s giggles vibrated through the garden. Kate also smiled for photographs with the lively Dadvengers and their children.

The visit was part of her ongoing Shaping Us project focusing on the important of early childhood years.

The Princess was joined on her visit by DJ and songwriter, Jax Jones, who is one of the Shaping Us campaign champions.

Nigel Clarke, the founder of Dadvengers, said: ‘Fathers have a hugely significant role to play in their children’s lives, right from the start.

‘Even before their baby is born, fathers can get involved and Dadvengers is on a mission to support them to do that in ways that work for them.

‘We provide them with information and advice to help look after their own wellbeing, while also supporting them to build the nurturing relationships and surroundings we know are so important in the very earliest years of their children’s lives.

‘It’s what Dadvengers is all about.’

Kate has previously described t he Shaping Us’ initiative as her ‘life’s work’.

Speaking at a launch event in January, the royal said: ‘The campaign is fundamentally about shining a spotlight on the critical importance of early childhood and how it shapes the adults we become.

‘During this time we lay the foundations and building blocks for life. And it is when we learn to understand ourselves, understand others and understand the world in which we live.

‘This is why it is essential, to not only understand the unique importance of our earliest years, but to know what we can all do to help raise future generations of happy, healthy adults.’

The initiative is a long-term project of the Princess’s, beginning with how a child develops and the importance of the formative years.

It will ‘explore in more depth the importance of a child’s social and emotional world’ and the significance of relationships, ‘surroundings and experiences’.

‘And of course, by understanding our own childhoods – what has shaped our own beliefs, relationships, behaviours and feelings – we, as adults, are better placed to play our part in positively shaping future generations,’ Kate added.
