Amanda Abbington shows off new look after Strictly exit as co-stars left gushing

Amanda Abbington has shown off her brand new look following her abrupt exit from Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress was partnered up with Giovanni Pernice for this year’s series of the glitzy BBC One show. And it’s fair to say the pair set the dance floor on fire at the start of the competition.

However last month, Sherlock star Amanda dramatically quit the show ahead of Halloween week. Her exit meant that Giovanni was also eliminated from the competition.

At the time, her exit was reported to be down to “medical reasons.” However, rumours of a feud between Amanda and professional partner Giovanni Pernice soon arose, as sources close to Abbington said she "did not know what she was getting herself in for.”

But on Friday (November 24), and weeks after she said goodbye to the show, Amanda took to her Instagram to reveal her new hairstyle. And her fans were soon left swooning.

In the snap, Amanda can be seen posing for the camera. Instead of her usual dark locks worn in a slicked style, she switched things up for a pink look – complete with side fringe.

In the caption she wrote: “Finally got a haircut” along with several nervous face emojis. Her hair transformation went down a storm with fans who rushed to the comments section to dish out the compliments.

One person said: “Gorgeous! Love it.” Someone else proclaimed: “Wowwwww you are so beautiful! This haircut looks great on you!”

Amanda’s fiancé Jonathan Goodwin also gushed over the look and commented: “I'm so lucky.” Fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant and former Corrie star Ellie Leach also penned: “erm obsessed ????”

It comes after judge Craig Revel Horwood broke his silence on the scandal, giving his thoughts on Amanda's dramatic walking from the show. Craig admitted he felt "so sad" when he had heard the news.

“I was so sad to hear that Amanda Abbington had withdrawn from the competition," Craig revealed in an interview with Best magazine. "I couldn't wait to see her dance the cha-cha-cha alongside professional partner Giovanni

"So I'm disappointed I won't get to see their future dances," he continued. "But I enjoyed watching her Strictly journey and wish her all the best."
