Dog the Bounty Hunter leaves search for Brian Laundrie after sustaining injury

Dog the Bounty Hunter has been forced to leave the search for Brian Laundrie after sustaining an injury.

After spending over a fortnight searching for wanted man Laundrie, the reality star has left Florida empty-handed.

Laundrie is the main person of interest in the death of his fiancé Gabby Petito, who was reported missing on September 11 whilst the couple were on a cross-country road trip.

TMZ revealed that Dog has had to leave the search for Laundrie after sustaining an ankle injury whilst out looking on rugged terrain.

A representative for the infamous bounty hunter has said, though, that he has not given up on his mission and he is raising funds to allow his team to continue the search in his absence.

Dog and his team had made discoveries in their two-week search, including a promising breakthrough on September 30 when he found a campsite and fresh Monster can near to where they believed Laundrie was hiding.

The team left in Dog's wake consists of a committed group of Florida locals who will keep in touch with him whilst he returns to Colorado to consult his doctor.

On his Instagram account Dog shared an image of a message he had flown over the island they were searching on which said: "Aloha Brian Laundrie – Dog."

Dog had initially joined the search of FBI's wanted man back in late September and he announced to followers of the case that he was following some very strong leads.

The bounty hunter – who found fame on hit TV show Dog The Bounty Hunter – was then spotted knocking on the door of the home Laundrie shared with his parents in North Port, Florida.

There have been theories shared on TikTok that Laundrie could be hiding in a secret hidden bunker at his parent's home.

Although Dog may be temporarily out of the search whilst recovering from his injury, the world awaits the capture of Laundrie.

Dog may be set to return to TV screens – but the recent hurdle in his most recent return to public attention may cause a delay in his comeback.
