Elvis Presley’s Graceland has been open to the public since 1982, but to this day some rooms are off-limits. Most famously, the Memphis mansion’s upstairs which was The King’s private space in life remains so in his death. This is hardly surprising since he died up there in the bathroom next to his bedroom in 1977.
But there is another upstairs private bathroom of Elvis’ that can be seen, although it’s not on the usual Graceland tour.
Earlier this month, Express.co.uk took part in a virtual live tour of the mansion guided by archivist Angie Marchese.
What made the experience extra special was seeing some rooms fans don’t usually get to nosey around in.
And while in the racquetball court building, a question came up about the jogging track on the roof.
Angie revealed it was still up there but instead decided to treat the lucky virtual guests to the seldom-seen upstairs of the racquetball court building.
Guiding the camera up there, the Elvis expert stood on the balcony that overlooked the court.
She revealed how guests would sometimes watch games from up there, so The King would hit balls up at them.
Also in that space was the iPod that plays Elvis singing Unchained Melody throughout the building, since the day he died that’s what he was playing on the piano downstairs.

Unlocking the first door on the left, Angie guided the camera into the guest changing room.
Inside were a couple of showers, a toilet area and gold-plated fixtures in the duel sinks.
While built into the wall were some shelves for storing towels, shoes and other clothes.
After seeing the room, the Graceland archivist went back to the balcony and over to the other door that was the entrance to Elvis’ private bathroom.

Inside Elvis’ private bathroom was a greeting or resting area with a couple of leather chairs.
The large space included a walk-in closet for clothes and towels and a built-in jacuzzi with gold-plated fixtures.
Elvis’ private sink was cased in the precious metal too, just like the ones on his private jet Lisa Marie.
But the most impressive part of the plush room had to be The King’s shower.
Elvis’ shower was more like a walk-in wet room with a bench and five gold-plated showerheads.
Just imagine what the one in his bathroom upstairs in the Graceland mansion must be like if this one’s anything to go by.
Other unseen rooms shown on the virtual tour included Aunt Delta’s bedroom off the kitchen and the laundry room.
While Jerry Schilling’s bedroom by the TV room, which he said used to flood, has since become a storage space.
