Jack Whitehall revealed his girlfriend Roxy Horner collapsed at the Brit Awards before she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

The 31-year-old model was rushed to hospital following the horrific incident at London’s O2 arena back in 2021 while the stand-up comic was hosting the event.

Prior to her diagnosis, Roxy confessed that she often suffered with exhaustion and would drink between four to eight litres of water a day.

But it wasn’t until she was 29 that she was diagnosed with the life-long illness just moments after her boyfriend handed out the final coveted award at the star-studded event.

Speaking to The Sun, the 34-year-old comedian recalled the devastating moment the influencer collapsed to the floor backstage.

He said: “We found out she had diabetes the night I was hosting the Brits. She had something called a diabetic hypo and she fainted.

“Paramedics were trying to resuscitate her and her sugar levels were spiking dangerously.”

Jack went on: “We ended up in A&E on the night of the Brits, which definitely made for a slightly different vibe of an after-party.

“The year before I was hobnobbing with Stormzy and Sir Elton John and this time I was sitting in the emergency room of an A&E unit sat next to a Scottish gentleman who smells of Special Brew.”

Luckily, the loved-up couple – who have been dating for three years – can look back and laugh about the uncomfortable incident, after the funnyman joked that her reaction was caused by seeing Harry Styles at the star-studded bash.

Speaking on stage on Wednesday night (March 15) in the heart of Essex, he joked: “The Brits is obviously the worst place to have a medical emergency as the only doctor in the house was Dre.

“To be fair I was experiencing quite a lot of the symptoms of a diabetic hypo while I was watching Harry as well.”

Before she found out she was diabetic, Roxy revealed she had been suffering with the tell-tale signs of the condition for some time.

She said: “I had no energy, I couldn’t even go for a walk. It was draining. I felt like I was dying. I would drink four to eight litres of water a day.”

The star has since gone on to raise awareness of diabetes as she praised her loving partner for his support throughout her illness.

She added: “Jack’s been my absolute rock, he’s so lovely. He was there when I got diagnosed. My parents and my family love in Australia, so he has been my family. We’re amazing.”
