Lizzie Cundy has revealed her fury after several of the England WAGs jetted out for the Qatar FIFA World Cup.

The country has come under fire for its strict laws, which include prison sentences and even the death penalty for being part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Last week, the likes Megan Pickford, Fern Maguire, Sasha Attwood and Aime Coady jetted out of Manchester to join their beaus and support them.

While previous World Cup’s have seen the wives and girlfriends hit the headlines for their boozy partying, they won’t be allowed to see their other halves this year.

Instead, they’re staying on a luxury super-yacht which has been fully booked out for the tournament.

But Original WAG Lizzie, 54, has hit out and admits she feels let down by the girls going over to watch the games, with England set to play the USA tonight (November 25) at 7pm.

The mum-of-two fumed: “I feel very let down by the girls (WAGs) going, I know the World Cup is the pinnacle of any footballers career but this was their chance to make a real stand against the barbaric human rights abuses that are going on in Qatar.

“They had their chance if they stayed at home to say to the world that they are against this sort of treatment.

“It would’ve made a big impact if the WAGs stayed home, I feel very let down bg them and I certainly wouldn’t have gone and now I’ve been offered to do work there as I have done with previous world cups in Germany and South Africa which I covered for ITV.

“I’ve said no to this because I believe it makes a real difference.”

Earlier this week, after an intervention from FIFA, it was decided that no players would stand in solidarity and wear the One Love armband for the LGBTQ+ community.

Lizzie went on to say: “As for the players, I feel they should definitely all wear the one love armbands, not just Gareth Southgate on the sidelines – the whole team.

“Take a leaf out of Germany’s book who have actually put their hands over their mouth and made a big impact.”
