One Direction fans are convinced this is the year Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik get back together. With the former bandmates teasing clues here there and everything of late, it seems almost inevitable some sort of reunion must be around the corner. However, bookies have lengthened odds on the long-awaited reunion happening as a result of rumours about Niall and Lewis Capaldi.
Ladbrokes have Niall and the Scottish singer odds-on for a collaboration following the ex-One Direction star’s revelation they have plans to get together via a video call this week in order to write music.
As a result, the odds of a 1D reunion have drifted.
Earlier this week, the bookies had the boys priced at 1/6 to make a comeback this year, but the price has slipped to 1/4 in the wake of Niall’s news.
Thankfully for fans, that still means they’re odds-on to announce their reunion before the end of 2020.
Elsewhere, a shock poll result found One Direction were far from the top of the list with Brits when it came to which band they would like to see reunite.

A poll conducted by StubHub asked who people wanted to reform, with ABBA emerging as the number one choice.
40 per cent of Brits voted for ABBA, with Oasis in second place with 28 per cent of the votes.
Way down in third place, however, were One Direction with only 16 per cent.
A 1D reunion was still a more popular choice that the likes of Destiny’s Child, Girls Aloud and Blur.
One Direction fans certainly have an appetite for a comeback, with anticipation mounting as their 10th anniversary approaches.
The band were put together on the X Factor back in 2010 and shot to global superstardom despite not winning the series.

After five years of number ones and sell-out tours, however, Zayn announced he was quitting the group.
One Direction carried on as a four-piece, releasing their fifth studio album Made in the A.M. and headed out on their final tour before confirming they were going on hiatus.
The hiatus officially began in January 2016 amid speculation it could mean the band was broken up for good.
However, in recent weeks, members of one of the world’s biggest boybands have started to drop hints about a reunion.
During a video interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Liam said: “I’m not allowed to say too much, obviously, because I’d be giving it away. But we’ve been speaking a lot more at the moment.”

Liam said the big anniversary felt like a “very special moment” for the boys and said he had been catching up with some of his former bandmates of late.
In a separate interview with The Sun, he also confirmed there were “a number of things” the group were “working on” at the moment.
“More than anything it’s just been a real good time for us to connect together again,” he added.
All five members of One Direction have launched solo music careers since the band went on hiatus.
Zayn, who left the group first and who this week was confirmed to be expecting his first child with girlfriend Gigi Hadid, may not be part of a potential reunion, however.
Though his ex-bandmates and the official One Direction account recently re-followed him on social media, he has become somewhat distanced from the the group.
On an Instagram live stream with DJ Alesso earlier this month, Liam hinted Zayn won’t be joining the boys.
“Most of us are in London, he told his pal, adding that the band were trying to arrange a group FaceTime call.
“You can come and fill in for Zayn,” he quipped. “Join the band!”
