BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty snubs weatherman after joking about childhood

BBC Breakfast hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were left in stitches after a remark about weatherman Matt Taylor's childhood on the show today (May 14).

The meteorologist was giving his weather report at the Tower of London on Friday and mentioned that the local ravens had given birth to two chicks.

While standing at the top of a staircase, co-host Naga couldn't resist firing a cheeky swipe at him asking why he was at the iconic castle.

He told hosts Charlie and Naga: "The Tower of London wanted our Breakfast viewers to get involved in naming one of the two chicks that was born in March.

"You can probably hear them squawking at the moment."

At the end of the segment, Matt gave a bit more insight into the black birds, saying: "Did you know ravens are very smart? They mimic speech and they are very much like teenagers.

"When they are adolescents, they leave home, join a gang, hang around with them until they find someone to pair up with. That's for now."

Charlie, without hesitation, jumped in to reply: "Is that what you did, Matt?"

The weatherman chuckled and responded: "We all went through that state, didn't we really?"

And Naga chimed in: "No, I was an angel."

The comment sent the studio in an awkward silence, then Matt added: "Ha! I believe that."

The trio let out a laughter as Naga moved on and discussed the next topic.

Yesterday, Naga told another weather forecaster, Carol Kirkwood, that she did not "appreciate" her "temperatures".

Carol made a "golfing" reference regarding the poor weather conditions when she rounded up the segment.

Naga said she appreciated her effort for that, adding "although your temperatures are not".

And the uncomfortable exchange didn't go unnoticed between the pair as some viewers took to Twitter to air their views.
