BBC Strictly fans make the same complaint after ‘distracting’ Blackpool feature
Strictly: Bobby and Dianne jive to Wham! classic
Strictly Come Dancing fans all made the same complaint on Saturday night’s Blackpool spectacular as they forgot the performances were joined by backing dancers.
In true Blackpool tradition, the professional dancers opened the show in the true glitzy and glamourous style and filled the dancefloor to perform a mega musical mash-up.
The first couple to take to the dancefloor were Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell who had a colourful start with their Jive to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!
After his performance, head judge Shirley Ballas told Bobby: “You brought everything to this dance. I’m so proud of you.”
Anton Du Beke shared: “That was just epic, I absolutely loved it,” before Motsi Mabuse added: “I believe that was your personal best.”

However, Craig Revel Horwood received boos from the audience when he said the dance was a “bit stompy”.
Despite the one critique, Bobby and Dianne were pleased with the comments and even more chuffed when they received a total of 35 points.
However, whilst viewers tried to enjoy their dance, they soon took to their X accounts, formerly known as Twitter, to express their thoughts on the backing dancers.
@ruth_clark noted: “#StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly #scd the one thing I really don’t like at all about Blackpool week is the backing dancers, why are they there? Distracting and annoying.”
@StephyPhantom said: “The backing dancers are so distracting!!! I know they’re amazing in their own right but it makes the couples so hard to judge #Strictly.”
