BBC Strictlys Bobby Brazier reveals sweet moment with his dad after tribute to late mum Jade

Strictly Come Dancing’s Bobby Brazier has revealed the sweet moment he shared with his dad, Jeff Brazier, after his performance last weekend.

Bobby and his dance partner Dianne Buswell performed their couples choice routine to the song This Woman’s Work by Maxwell in a tribute to Bobby’s late mum, Jade Goody.

The dance moved the judges to tears, and they were given a score of 37 out of 40, their highest of the series so far.

In the audience on Saturday, 25 November, was Bobby’s dad, Jeff and his brother Freddie, who could be seen beaming with pride at the end of the routine.

Now, the duo have looked back on that special night, and Bobby revealed his family's reaction during a chat with Janette Manrara on Strictly It Takes Two on Wednesday, 29 November.

The EastEnders star said: “I remember looking to them after it finished, walking over to the judges, and my dad just said well done.

“It was a really genuine, sweet, well done, you know, I could tell he was really proud.”

Bobby added: “Someone told me that my brother stood up before the dance had even finished, just to start clapping way before anyone else.”

Dianne then chimed in and said: “That’s so sweet,” to which Bobby agreed.

Before last weekend's dance, Bobby and Dianne appeared on Loose Women to talk about the highly-anticipated routine.

When Bobby was asked by the panel the reason behind the song choice, he explained: “Well, many reasons, I've always thought it was the perfect song, you know the way he sings it, the lyrics are profound and very impactful for me.

“There's lyrics in particular, 'I should be crying, but I just can’t let it show', and when I was a little bit younger and I was angry and resentful, and I feared the world and just couldn't cry or express myself, It was those lyrics, hearing that, would just make me cry because it felt so true.”

Bobby also spoke about the song in a previous It Takes Two interview where he said: “It is the perfect song, sung by the perfect man, and it is the perfect tone. The lyrics are just profound and touched me at my core, it is gorgeous. I am going to have to work very hard this week to do it justice.”

Bobby and Dianne are now preparing for Saturday night’s musical-themed quarter-final, where they will dance a Salsa to the iconic hit (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing.
