BBC Strictly’s Carlos Gu’s one-word response to Craig over harsh Angela Scanlon comments
Strictly Come Dancing professional Carlos Gu has jokingly clapped back at Craig Revel Horwood's harsh feedback to Angela Scanlon from Saturday night's episode.
Appearing on Strictly: It Takes Two, Janette Manrara asked Carlos his thoughts on Craig's comments that their dance 'wasn't smooth, unfortunately' and that they 'needed new ideas'.
The 29 year old professional dancer laughed, however, and gave a one word answer about his opinions – "rude".
Despite their best dance moves while performing the American Smooth, judge Craig quipped that he thought 'the couple had ran out of ideas.'
However, Carlos admitted scoring on the BBC show is "all down to preference."
As Angela burst into laughter, the dancer took it all in his stride and said: "It's very personal and I think this is the best way for us. He might think another way."
Angela, 39, and Carlos were joint eighth on the leaderboard with Zara McDermott and dancer partner Graziano Di Prima – who just survived the dreaded dance off for the second time this series.
When asked about their nerves on that positioning, TV presenter Angela said: "We were super nervous. Two weeks on the trot at that position and I think it shakes you a bit.
"For me, what we're looking for is growth week on week and we had taken, or at least I think we did, a lot of what they [the judges] had said from the previous week and really worked hard on it."
But, in a sigh of relief, Angela and Carlos are through for another week after being voted by the public.
"It's amazing, we've had so many messages and people stopping us on the street," Angela explained on how much she appreciates the support.
In fact, fans even reached out to the show and one viewer wrote: "Don't you worry you two! Judges ridiculously harsh I thought. I loved your beautiful carefree dance… I immediately rewound it to watch again… such joy!
"Fingers crossed that the rest of the public saw that too."
Instead of dwelling on their past performance, the dance duo instead looked towards the future and in particular Halloween week, which Angela said they'll "continue to grow".
The couple are due to perform a lively Charleston, with the couple teasing that it will be performance fans at home won’t want to miss.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday 28 October at 6:40pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
