BLUE singer Duncan James will turn green when he sees the creatures he will be working with on his next job.
I can reveal the All Rise pop star will be heading Down Under to face his phobia of snakes on I’m A Celebrity. . . Get Me Out Of Here!
Duncan has signed a big bucks deal to appear on the hit ITV show — and he has told pals it is worth it because of the size of the pay cheque.
A source close to the him said: “Duncan has been approached in the past for I’m A Celebrity but the timing wasn’t right — until now.
“With his good looks and personality, he is the perfect fit for the jungle.
“Producers also think he could be telly gold because he will have to face his phobias head-on.
“The best campmates are the ones who have to overcome their fears — and Duncan has told them he is game for anything.
“Some of his mates think he is totally crazy to go in there, but he has told them the pay packet will make it worthwhile.”
Duncan, whose two-year contract with Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks ended at the start of this year, appeared on Dancing On Ice in 2007. But he had ruled out going into the jungle, admitting: “I have a massive phobia of snakes. If I saw one I’d pass out or I’d literally pee myself.
“I would never, ever be able to put my head in one of those tanks with creatures crawling about. I’d have a heart attack.”
Last month, The Sun exclusively revealed football pundit Ian Wright was the first celebrity to join talks for this year’s edition of the show while Shooting Stars panellist Ulrika Jonsson had also been approached by show bosses.
This series also marks the return of Ant McPartlin after pal Holly Willoughby filled in for him last year alongside Declan Donnelly.
Duncan’s band mate Antony Costa appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2005, and their Blue pal Simon Webbe was on the show in 2008, finishing fifth.
You have got to feel for Lee Ryan — he is currently on Celebs Go Dating.
