part of the pain of the incredible grief we are all experiencing after the loss of cameron, is this communal sense of heartbreak over all the good he has done, and all the good he was planning to do. we truly lost one of the worlds best souls. but, if there is any beauty in any of this, we will find it in picking up where cameron left off. please donate to The Cameron Boyce foundation, if you haven’t already. if cam ever touched your heart, the link is in my bio. this is how we keep him alive. this is how we feel him every day, in everything we do.
Disney released his final interview
Disney released footage from Boyce’s final interview for Descendants 3, in which he talked about acceptance. He shared in the interview, published by Entertainment Tonight: “Going back to the first movie, it was very much we have labels and we have designated places for these people that we have placed labels on. And very quickly learn that once you take a label off of someone and let them thrive in whatever environment that they’re in, you can see the best come out of someone.”
He continued: “To be able to tell a story in which we say,‘It doesn’t matter where you come from, it doesn’t matter who you — we aregoing to accept you for who you are,’ — that’s when people really start to takein their surroundings and just go free, you know. There are a lot of people whoare initially placed as bad. ‘That person’s bad, that person’s this and that.’But it’s the old adage: ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover.’ Let someone reallybe who they are. And it’s a cool thing that we tell.”
