Corrie's Mollie Gallagher reveals Nina needs to 'save herself' in order to heal

Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) has completely changed in recent Coronation Street episodes.

Following the attack and Seb’s (Harry Visinoni) death, Nina removed her Victorian Goth identity and now wanders the cobbles make-up free and wears clothes that allow her to fit in with everyone.

After initially telling Abi (Sally Carman) she’d stay clear of Seb’s funeral, Abi recently asked Nina to attend in touching scenes.

Upcoming scenes will see this character’s behaviour change dramatically once more and as viewers watch with hope Nina will start to heal, Mollie Gallagher has revealed what needs to happen with her character in order for her to move forward:

‘I do think it is very much about saving herself’ Mollie explained.

‘She has the wise words of Roy in her ear, and he is always trying to help, and it does make her open her eyes. We will learn a lot more about Nina, what the relationship with her dad is like and how she lost her mum and dad who were the most important people in her life.

But it needs to come from herself. She needs people to listen to her and she needs to share her emotions which is something that I don’t think she tends to do that much.’

‘Hopefully, this will be the way forward for her because right now, she needs to restore her faith in the world and that’s a lot to get through’ Mollie added as she looked towards the future for Nina.

‘She has the right people around her and even if, at this stage, she isn’t fully taking that in, I hope that bit by bit she will start to feel something more.’
