David Walliams TV comeback confirmed as he takes over as host of ITV show

David Walliams will reportedly continue his duties as the narrator for the iconic ITV program It'll Be Alright On The Night.

Despite his unexpected departure from the judging panel of ITV’s Britain's Got Talent, it's said he's part of new episodes of the beloved blooper show that are in the works.

The show has run for 46 years and it seems, just like the former BGT judge, its not going anywhere.

According to TV Zone, additional episodes are also in the pipeline for production and are slated to be broadcast next year.

The comedy series showcases hilarious mishaps and was one of the first series created with the specific purpose of showing behind-the-scenes bloopers from film and TV.

It'll Be Alright On The Night was originally presented by the late Denis Norden from 1977 until 2006.

David took over from Welsh comedian Griff Rhys Jones in 2018, following a decline in ratings to 2.8 million, which prompted a revamp by the show's producers.

The most recent episode to air on ITVX was the second instalment of series 36, showcasing The Chase host Bradley Walsh, BBC’s Gardeners' World, Kim Kardashian, and former Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli.

After a decade-long stint on the show, David was succeeded by Bruno on Britain's Got Talent earlier this year.

Last year, the 52-year-old telly personality exited the show following the revelation of a series of offensive comments he had made about two contestants.

The derogatory remarks were recorded during an audition show at the London Palladium in January 2020 and saw David call an elderly contestant a "c**t" three times while speaking to an unknown party at the judges table.

In another recording, he was overheard referencing his boner and making sexually explicit comments about a female contestant.

Apologising for his comments, David previously told The Guardian: "I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.”
