EastEnders’ favourites Mick and Linda Carter (played by Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright) are set to reignite their previous spark in Albert Square. The once happily married couple will get into the festive spirit at the expense of an onlooking Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks). Before Mick’s departure from the BBC soap, fans are praying for fireworks between the Carters.

According to official spoilers Janine’s paranoia about her love rival Linda will intensify.

Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) is on hand to help stir any drama between the soon-to-be married couple.

When Janine arrives back at The Queen Vic, her future mother-in-law Shirley tells her Linda has called in sick.

This leads Mick’s fiancee to feeling something more underhand is going on with the pair.

When Mick arrives late too, Janine puts two and two together and assumes the worst for her relationship.

Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) also adds fuel to the fire and lets slip to Janine that Mick and Linda are away together.

She tells Janine the former husband and wife have gone shopping for some school shoes for young son Ollie.

This sends a paranoid Janine to new levels of anxiety and she fears the worst for their upcoming wedding day.

Later on, a fuming Janine calls the registrar for hers and Mick’s big day.

With doubts galore circling in her brain, what was she planning on saying to the man who would marry her to Mick?

Her worries continue when Mick tells her about another shopping trip he has planned with his ex-wife.

Janine hits the roof when he tells her they’re getting Ollie some Christmas presents.

But, there is some good news that perks the suspicious future bride up.

What could she have up her sleeve to make her suspicions subside?

Many viewers on social media have been begging for a reunion between Walford’s former lovebirds.

@Kira tweeted: “Alfie spouting facts only! Mick and Linda are meant to be!”

@chattymandan observed: “Mick letting Alfie go, working in the Vic just ’cause he’s jealous of Alfie and Linda and their friendship.”

@coldilocks wrote: “I beg EastEnders to get Mick and Linda back together.”

@JameHComedy added: “Thing is EastEnders you can’t just keep tearing apart stalwart couples knowing they’ll get back. We need Mick and Linda to survive anything. You need a bedrock couple so other couples problems have an idealisation to compare to.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
