EastEnders star Davood Ghadami reveals his proudest moment on the soap

EastEnders star Davood Ghadami has revealed which storylines he’s enjoyed the most, in addition to those that he’s proud of.

The actor — who portrays Kush Kazemi in the BBC One soap — will appear opposite Martin Fowler actor James Bye in Monday’s instalment of Secrets From The Square.

Hosted by Stacey Dooley, the series delves into the behind-the-scenes action of the serial drama, while two mainstays reminisce about their past, while also looking at what’s to come in the future.

Ahead of his instalment, Davood opened up about which storylines he’s enjoyed the most since joining EastEnders back in 2014.

The actor said: ‘It’s a bit of a toss up really. I loved the early stuff that Kush was involved in, with the Masood family and Shabnam.

‘There was so much going on at that time, along with his affair with Stacey, them having a child together, losing his own son with Shabnam and then her leaving.

‘And it all happened in a relatively short period of time, so I think that intensity of those storylines was something that I really really enjoyed.

‘There was also the knife crime storyline, which was more recent. I think it was so hard-hitting and so relevant to everyday life, and to a seriously real problem in our society.

‘The impact was so strong off the back of that, and the way it was done. The form of the show was unlike anything that soaps have ever done.

‘To be part of it at all was something to be proud of. ‘

One to watch: Monday 6 July at 8pm on BBC One.
