EMMERDALE fans were left distracted by a police blunder in a dramatic gunpoint robbery scene – but did you spot it?
During Thursday night's episode, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) were held hostage by the nurse's abusive ex Russ.
Russ (Rob Jarvis) turned up in the village demanding his late mother's money from Wendy, which was given to his grandson Harry.
This week he revealed he's on the run is because he gunned down a police officer in an armed robbery of a jewellery shop and when Wendy told Victoria he held them hostage.
Russ had no idea that David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) was hiding upstairs trying to find his phone to call the cops.
David's cover was blown when Russ heard his phone ringing upstairs.
A stressed out David was relieved to hear that it was his son Jacob on the other end of the line.
He told him: "Jake I need you to call the police, there's a guy in The Hide, he's got a gun."
A shocked Jacob replied: "What?!"
The shop owner replied: "I can't talk. Just call them."
But fans of the ITV soap were left scratching their heads over why David he didn't use that time on the phone to get help himself.
One wrote on Twitter: "david calling jacob to call the police instead of calling them himself????"
Another said: "Why didn't David just call the police?!"

A third added: "David should of rang the police not Jacob."
A fourth questioned: "Couldnt David ring the police."
Unfortunately evil Russ found him upstairs hiding behind a table.
He asked the person hiding to come out or he'd blow Victoria's "pretty little head off".
Jacob managed to get in touch with the police and they surrounded the area to try and stop Russ.
As the evil man plugged the phones in to negotiate with the cops, Victoria took her chance and got up and ran at him.
She pulled him back and the gun went off – leaving fans convinced the chef was the one caught in the firing line.
Fans could be right as actress Isabel Hodgins hinted Victoria could DIE in terrifying siege scenes.
Victoria is left fearing for her life, with Isabel revealing: "You hear a gunshot, there's a mad man at large. They should fear the worst."
She added to The Mirror: "Victoria has got so much to live for and for that to possibly be taken away from her is awful.
"If it was one's time [to leave] it would be bittersweet, because you'd be gutted to be leaving but also thinking this is so juicy and it's going to be great."
