Amelia Spencer (played by Daisy Arwen Campbell) has been doing her best to look after her father Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) in recent months on Emmerdale after he was left wheelchair-bound following a severe allergic reaction. With the mechanic starting to rebuild his life and trying to show he is fit to return to work, little do his loved ones know he is still struggling with the physical effects of his debilitating condition. However, his discrepancy puts his daughter in serious danger in next week’s episodes of the ITV soap as a tragic accident leaves her fighting for her life. Could his actions result in the death of the village youngster?

The drama kicks off as Dan heads to begin another day at work, despite being in no fit state to carry out his duties.

Worried about their financial situation, Amelia asks her father when it is likely he is going to be paid so she can sort the rent payments.

Unfortunately, she is left more anxious than before as he tells her he will have to wait to ask boss Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) for payment.

As he gets to work, the mechanic realises just how difficult things are becoming and he calls on Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) for help.

However, his fellow villager is too busy to stop and offer a hand, leaving the father-of-two in quite a tricky predicament.

Meanwhile, Amelia is doing her bit to try and get her hands on some cash as she arrives at the café and sets her sights on selling Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) a handbag.

Trouble is afoot as Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) recognises the fashion accessory as a similar one which was charged to his credit card.

The businessman then accuses the youngster of being a thief; an accusation which sees her runoff in a bid to get out of trouble.

She then crosses paths with Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) who tells the beloved character to keep quiet about her involvement in the scam.

After agreeing to deny any wrongdoing, Amelia heads to the garage to check up on her father, reminding him to ask Cain for his wages.

Seeing Dan struggling, the youngster offers to help and although he tries to stop her at first, he is ultimately relieved to be getting some support.

The young schoolgirl then lifts the bonnet of a car but the prop holding it up moves out of place as she is fitting a new battery.

Unfortunately, the bonnet snaps shut on her and the youngster falls to the ground as she cries out in pain.

Witnessing the car accident and worried about his daughter, Dan tries to jump into action, only for his back to give up on him.

As a result, he too ends up on the ground and knowing how much pain her father will be in, the youngster tries to get herself on her feet.

However, her efforts to help the mechanic fail as she ends up collapsing and this time, she is knocked unconscious.

It is clear there is something seriously wrong with the schoolgirl, so could this be the beginning of the end for Amelia?

Another villager is likely to come to the pair’s aid, but it could be too little too late for the youngster as the impact of the car accident becomes clearer.

The beloved character has been on-screen since she first arrived in the village in 2011 as the daughter of established resident, Ali Spencer (Kelli Hollis), who was the sister of the late Rachel Breckle (Gemma Oaten).

Amelia has been at the centre of some big storylines on the soap, such as her stance on religion, the death of her mother and discovering Daz Spencer (Mark Jordon) was in fact her birth-father.

After so much tragedy over the past nine years, will the youngster end up leaving the show as she’s caught up in yet another disaster?

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
