Emmerdale villager spirals as symptoms of shattering diagnosis begin to show
Emmerdale: Eric Pollard discovers missing brooch
Eric Pollard (played by Chris Chittell) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s earlier this year and he has not been handling things well since learning about the condition.
ITV soap spoilers have revealed he is unable to attend a Parkinson’s Support Group meeting in upcoming Emmerdale scenes.
Later on, Pollard is taken aback when he experiences an unexpected tremor.
Village doctor Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) encourages him to open up to his friend about the diagnosis.
However, Pollard’s pal Rodney Blackstock’s (Patrick Mower) reaction to his shattering diagnosis leaves him perplexed.

Earlier this year, Pollard admitted to Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) that he was terrified the incurable illness would take over his life in heartbreaking scenes.
He was determined to keep the condition a secret from his loved ones, but his partner Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) is now aware of his disease.
Other family members are also in the know about Pollard’s health news after he opened up to them in recent scenes on Emmerdale.

Speaking about the Parkinson’s storyline, actor Chris said: “I feel really privileged to be given this storyline.”
“Parkinson’s is indiscriminate, deceptive and wickedly unkind targeting so many.”
He added: “I want to do this storyline justice for the most courageous of people who are having to bear the brunt of this condition.”
Will Pollard get the support he needs now his symptoms are starting to show?
Chris has been part of Emmerdale since 1986 and is the soap’s longest-serving character.
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw told Metro.co.uk earlier this year: “When Eric Pollard is diagnosed with Parkinson’s he’s naturally very scared and unsure of what the condition means for his future.
“The unique position of a show like Emmerdale means we can tell this story really authentically over a long period of time and we can really shine a light on what a diagnosis like this means and follow Pollard on his journey of learning to live with it.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
