Fans rush to support Eamonn Holmes as he shares update on recovery after suffering horrific fall | The Sun

EAMONN Holmes has shared a health update with fans as he continues his recovery from a horrific fall.

The TV presenter took to his Instagram to reveal he had been hitting the gym in order to "put his legs right" after suffering injuries.

Eamonn, 63, was pictured using an apparatus to strengthen his upper body after months of chronic pain.

After suffering from severe back pain, the star underwent an operation before suffering a fall down the stairs weeks later.

Now, the presenter has been hitting the gym to try to get his strength back – joking he's just "hanging around".

Holding his arms above his head and holding onto a bar, Eamonn could be seen lifting himself from a chair, wearing a weighted belt.

Last year, Eamonn had surgery to try to correct the severe and chronic pain he was suffering from in his back.

But two weeks into his recovery he fell backwards down the stairs at the Weybridge home in Surrey that he shares with wife Ruth.

Eamonn was spotted in a wheelchair earlier this year as he left Wembley Stadium where he watched his team Manchester United beat Newcastle 2-0 to lift the Carabao Cup.

He has also been photographed using a pair of crutches.

After months off-screen Eamonn started making his return to TV in January, admitting he was struggling with staying indoors.

Recalling his horrific injuries, he said: "Suddenly it was as if someone had shot my left knee from behind.

"It literally collapsed without any warning. I was on a curve of the stairs, and I just went back down the stairs, boom, boom, boom down the whole staircase until I hit the stone floor in the hallway.

"Blood was pouring out my mouth, and a bone was sticking out my shoulder."

Eamonn added to the Daily Mail: "Ruth came rushing down the stairs. She kept saying, 'You're fine, everything's okay, you're fine.' I said, 'Ruthie, there is a bone sticking out of my shoulder — I'm not fine'."

Part of Eamonn's rehabilitation also includes boxing sessions.
