Lena Headey proved a formidable, terrifying and power-hungry force as Cersei Lannister during her eight seasons on Game of Thrones. Cersei, despite her murderous, scheming and backstabbing ways, was, without doubt, one of the most endeared characters among HBO viewers and the GOT fandom. And while the fantasy series may be over, actor Headey has gone on to put pen to paper for an exciting new project away from acting altogether.

The Game of Thrones star runs her very own production company away from acting on the big and small screen.

Headey’s company, Peephole Productions has now struck up a first-look deal with Platform One Media, according to Deadline.

The all-new deal for the former GOT star will see the two companies come together to develop a series of scripted and unscripted TV projects.

The Cersei Lannister actor will serve as executive producer on all projects under the deal.

Speaking of teaming up with Headey and her production, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Platform One Media CEO expressed her excitement.

“Whether she’s acting, directing, or producing Lena is an incredible talent and has a unique eye for curating a diverse slate that unlocks the power of great storytelling,” O’Connell Marsh said.

She added: “We look forward to working with Lena to build her company and develop material that speaks to her passion for challenging, thought-provoking and richly complex character narratives.”

GOT’s Headey also weighed in: “I am beyond excited to work with this incredibly collaborative group of people,”

She continued: “To get to do what you love with the support of such a great company is a dream come true.

“I am thrilled to get a chance to create projects in an environment like this one “

And Headey’s thrill was shared by several of her fans who took to social media following the announcement with their reactions.

“Lena Headey having her own production company can be something so sexy,” commented one fan. “Queen better be giving herself those juicy, leading lady roles she deserves.”

A second weighed in: “Exciting new partnership with Lena Headey’s Peephole Productions.”

“‘Peephole Productions co-produced Headey’s BAFTA-nominated short The Trap and will produce the feature length version in 2021’ she’s getting to live out her dream,” tweeted a third.

“I’M SO PROUD OF HER AND SO EXCITED!!!! thank you universe.”

While a fourth said on Twitter: “Lena Headey really has her own production company please I cant I’m crying I’m so proud.”

For Game of Thrones fans still missing their fix of Headey in the role of Cersei Lannister, the entire boxset is available to binge on NOW TV.

Cersei’s time on the show came to a rather brutal end at the hands of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

In action-packed scenes, Cersei died in the arms of her brother-turned-lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) as she was crushed under the Red Keep.

Game of Thrones is available to stream on NOW TV now.
