The launch of GB News was spearheaded by Andrew Neil, who shook the industry when he announced he would be quitting in September, just months after the channel first went live. It now seems that former BBC presenter Simon McCoy will be following the same path as GB News confirmed to Metro the 60-year-old has decided to leave his role. According to The Telegraph, Simon has cited “personal reasons” as his motive for making an exit.

The unconfirmed announcement comes soon after This Morning star Eamonn Holmes confirmed he would be joining GB News.

The 62-year-old announced he would be leaving the ITV show after he and wife Ruth Langsford’s roles on the programme were scaled back.

On GB News, Simon has been presenting The Great British Breakfast alongside Kirsty Gallacher.

Express.co.uk has approached GB News for comment.
