GMB star admits not going to be here as he confirms break from ITV show
Richard Arnold to head to Australia to report on I’m a Celeb
Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold has confirmed he will be away from the ITV show for three weeks.
On Tuesday, the entertainment reporter spoke with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls as he teased he was jetting off to Australia.
During the chat, Richard discussed the confirmed I’m A Celeb 2023 line-up, which includes This Morning presenter Josie Gibson and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, Richard spilled the beans.
“I’m not going to be here for the next three weeks,” he said to a visibly stunned Susanna and Ed.
“I’m off, I’ve got the hat which clearly doesn’t fit. More like Windy Miller, for those that are old enough to remember. I’m not going in [to the jungle], but I thought I’d stay in a hotel just around the corner!”

He continued: “I’ll be rubbing shoulders with the friends and family for three weeks, possibly having the odd refreshing beverage but making sure I’m sober by 4 o’clock.
“Breakfast TV made at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, utter bliss.”
Ed then quipped that it was a “cushty” job to which Richard responded: “It’s a fun gig.
“I’ve done it a couple of times before, but it’s when you find yourself having a drink with Stanley Johnson, or you’re minding Becky Vardy’s children, which I ended up doing. It’s quite surreal.”

The I’m a Celeb line-up also sees actress Jamie Lynn Spears – the sister of Britney Spears – TV personality Sam Thompson, TV presenter Fred Sirieix, YouTuber Nella Rose, food critic Grace Dent, JLS star and DJ Marvin Humes, former EastEnders star Danielle Harold and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard.
The campmate everyone is talking about, however, is GB News presenter Nigel Farage.
Nigel led stars who were touching down in Australia ahead of the show launch this Sunday, as he was spotted landing in Brisbane airport.
Speaking to the press, he said: “I’m just here surfing for the week. I can’t confirm I am doing it [I’m A Celebrity] but I might be.”
The bold move to cast Nigel comes after former Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s entry into the jungle was met with plenty of outrage, including from comedian Kathy Burke who slammed ITV for the move.
Many members of the public believe he has a lot to answer for in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
