Helen Flanagan’s big acting comeback revealed – five years after Coronation Street exit

Coronation Street's Helen Flanagan is making a big comeback to acting after five years, and fans are over the moon.

The star is set to join the 2024 UK tour of Cluedo 2 – The Next Chapter as interior designer Annabel Scarlett, and revealed she can't wait to take the stage.

This will mark the mum-of-three's first acting gig since leaving Coronation Street in 2018, where she will be playing the iconic Miss Scarlet in the classic 'whodunnit' plot.

About her new role, Helen shared: "I've long been looking for the right theatre role for ages and I'm so excited to be making my stage acting debut in the iconic role of Miss Scarlett. It could not be more perfect!

"Cluedo 2 is going to be so much fun and I am thrilled to be working alongside such a great actor as Jason. I can't wait to begin rehearsals in the New Year, and, of course, wear the famous red dress!"

Helen is joining other stars in the theatre show, including Casualty actor Jason Durr as Colonel Mustard.

Jason, known for his roles in Casualty, ITV series Heartbeat and films like The Mysterious Island, shared his excitement about his new role: "I'm thrilled to be joining the cast of Cluedo 2 as Colonel Mustard. I was a huge fan of the Cluedo board game as a child and the Colonel is such a great character.

"I am looking forward to bringing laughter and this ultimate whodunnit to audiences across the UK in its 75th anniversary year."

This new theatre role for Helen comes after she confessed to having an 'ugly fallout' with her ex Scott Sinclair, father of their three children.

The pair ended their relationship last October after being together for 13 years and engaged for four. They are parents to Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and two year old Charlie.

Despite sharing parenting duties, Helen admitted that she and her footballer ex Scott Sinclair, "don't like each other very much".

In her first interview about their split, she told the Sun: "I love Scott and I know that he loves me, but I suppose we just don't like each other very much at the moment."

"We don't really speak and there's no point in pretending that we're the best of friends when we're not. What we had was really special, and because of that, the emotion between us is just too raw. Luckily, I get on really well with his mum and he speaks to my parents, so I'm sure Scott and I will eventually have a better relationship."
