Huge change to new I'm A Celebrity series as bosses axe fan favourite

I'M A Celebrity bosses have axed its latest spin-off show, Daily Drop, after just one year.

The programme, which aired on the ITV hub, was hosted by Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope and was a replacement for ITV2's I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp which was axed in 2020.

The news comes just weeks before the main show returns to ITV for its 21st series and goes back a second time to Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

An ITV spokesman said: "The Daily Drop won't be returning this year but we'd like to thank Vick Hope and everyone involved in the show last year for bringing fans of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! all the latest news and gossip"

No replacement show has been planned. Instead viewers can get updates on official I'm A Celebrity pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok.

Daily Drop had a similar format to Extra Camp, which ran for 17 years and aired immediately after the main show.

It  was last hosted by Emmerdale star Adam Thomas and former IAC contestant Emily Atack.

It featured behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with contestants after they have been voted off and was uploaded to the hub every weekday.

The main show of I'm A Celebrity will return next month with celebrity contestants including Coronation Street star Simon Gregson, EastEnders stalwart Adam Woodyatt, TV host Richard Madeley and ex-Strictly judge Arlene Phillips.
