I’m A Celebrity is known for hurling even the most famous stars into the jungle to see if they can survive the terrifying creepy-crawlies that Australia has to offer, and now they’ve set their sights on someone with a very big reputation indeed. As ITV producers start filing their books with potential celebs who would be up for the challenge, will they manage to secure one of Netflix’s Tiger King stars to take the plunge?

Carole Baskin could soon be swapping big cats for critters if the latest odds are anything to go by

Star of the hit show Tiger King, in investigative documentary into the lives of America’s big cat breeders and its bizarre underworld, showing viewers the weird, the wonderful and the mayhem surrounding the exquisite animals.

The series catapulted some on the eccentric characters involved into the spotlight, such former zoo owner Joe Exotic and his real life nemesis and rival Carole Baskin.

We’re sure Mr Exotic, who’s real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, would have made an entertaining addition to the jungle, his incarceration would make that slightly difficult.

He is currently serving a 22 year jail sentence after being convicted of two counts of murder-for-hire directed towards Carole.

Instead, booking agent Ladbrokes have priced the odds on Carole heading Down Under.

The odds for the big-cat rights activist who runs the Big Cat Rescue in the US, are priced at just 8/1 as bosses are reportedly keen to sign her up.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “Carole Baskin could soon be swapping big cats for critters if the latest odds are anything to go by.”

Reports from other publications suggest ITV “hope” she will agree to take part in the hit jungle show.

A TV source told The Sun: “Jungle producers have made a formal approach and hope she will do it.”

Express.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.

Despite the ITV series still being months away and the concerning matter coronavirus threatening the production, the rumour mill of who will appear in the 2020 series has already begun.

There are a fair few names on the list of celebs who could be ready to take their greatest fears, including Coronation Street star Beverley Callard, Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard and Manchester United superstar Eric Cantona.

The Mirror reported that Beverly has already confirmed her spot, with an insider revealing: “Everyone was thrilled when Bev said yes, she is such a well-loved ITV face.”

Former footballer John Barnes was rumoured to have wine the 2019 cast in Australia but didn’t appear last year.

He says he’s ready to take part and will take on whatever challenges producers fire at him, so could this time be his year?

This Morning legend Richard Madeley is also “considering” entering the wilderness this time around, after watching his son-in-law James Haskell take on the challenge last year.

In the past he admitted to always turning down the chance to take part in I’m A Celeb, but will now “think about it seriously.”

Fans ahem also speculated that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’s Jeremy Clarkson, GMB host Susanna Reid, politician Nigel Farage and Countryfile presenter Matt Baker could also be in with a chance to appear this year.

I’m A Celebrity is set to return to out screens on ITV later this year.
