I’m A Celebrity star dies after battling brain tumour
TV presenter Annabel Giles has died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour back in July, her children have announced in a statement.
A statement shared to her Instagram by her children Molly and Tedd said their "incredible mother" died on Monday afternoon at Martlets Hospice in Hove.
It read: "In July, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.
"In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies.
"In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others."
"Mum was truly one of a kind, an enigma to those privileged to share her life. True to her nature, she kept spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end. Her humour and laughter will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she always did.
"We thank you for your love and support and kindly request that you respect our privacy at this challenging time.
"In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we would be grateful for donations to Martlets Hospice, whose exceptional care was a great source of comfort throughout this journey.
"With heartfelt thanks, Molly & Tedd x"
Throughout her career, Annabel presented a series of high profile TV shows including ITV’s Posh Frocks and New Trousers, and appeared on shows including Have I Got News For You and Through The Keyhole.
Back in 2013, Annabel took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! where she entered the ITV jungle on day five as a latecomer alongside Vincent Simone. However, she was the first celeb to be evicted from the jungle.
Away from the TV screens, Annabel was married to singer Midge Ure from 1985 to 1989 and the pair were parents to their daughter Molly. The TV presenter also had a son called Tedd, who was born in 1998.
