ITV comedy show hosted by Iain Stirling axed after seven series

ITV has reportedly axed comedy show CelebAbility after seven series.
Love Island narrator Iain Stirling has hosted the programme since it first hit screens in 2017, but it seems there are “no plans” for new episodes.
According to Metro, the show, which saw famous faces teamed up to compete in challenges, will not have another series.
An ITV spokesperson told the publication: “There are no current plans for another series.”
The latest series saw comedian Katherine Ryan and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Snoochie Sky among the guest team captains.

It comes as The Sun claimed ITV bosses have branded the show “tired”.
A source reportedly went on to say: “CelebAbility had a decent run, but ultimately the format was a bit tired and celeb panel shows can feel dated.
“Bosses are always keen to try new ideas and invest in fresh telly projects, it’s time for a change and Iain isn’t short of work.”

Fortunately for fans of Iain Stirling, he has plenty of other shows to keep him on screens.

The 35-year-old will begin his stand-up comedy tour RELEVANT next year.
He has also narrated hit ITV series Love Island since 2015.
CelebAbility isn’t the first game show to have been axed by the channel recently.
It was announced last month they had axed two gameshows hosted respectively by Gary Lineker and Ian Wright.
Sitting on a Fortune, hosted by former football star Lineker, and Moneyball, fronted by sporting legend Wright, will not return to screens.
Both had run for two series, giving contestants the chance to win huge jackpots.
A source told Express.co.uk: “There are no current plans for a third series,” of either game show.
Before the statement, Lineker had talked about his predictions for the show’s success.
Earlier this year, the 62-year-old told The Sun: “I think it’s a possibility for us to do a full series with celebrities.
“I think the cash has to go to charity… I don’t think the celebrities can get away with that one!
“I’m really pleased with how Sitting on a Fortune has been received. The figures have been good and the feedback’s been excellent.”
