ITV I’m A Celeb’s Nella Rose blasted for ‘toxic’ comments as sexism row erupts
I’m A Celeb: Nella Rose clashes with Fred Sirieix
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has been embroiled in a “sexism” row following remarks made by Nella Rose.
On Sunday night, the ITV show continued and saw the stars finally settling into jungle life.
As the campmates woke up, some of the male contestants were gathering firewood to keep everybody warm.
Social media star Nella Rose was impressed with how the men in the camp were treating the women and aired her thoughts to This Morning’s Josie Gibson.
The young star quipped: “So the men are supposed to go out, hunt, get the wood, make the fire, whilst the women keep the vibes.”

As Josie agreed, they both burst into laughter as Josie highlighted it’s restored her faith in men as she called those in camp gentlemen.
Nella later commented: “That’s how it should be. The suffragettes were fighting for this.”
The social media star compared the older men in the camp to people her own age and didn’t hold back in sharing her thoughts on the age gap.
She said: “Imagine if it was a bunch of men my age, they would be like ‘Why are we the only ones getting the wood bruv?’ These are real men. Men, real men. The Hercules kind.”
In the Bush Telegraph, Nella described the guys in camp as “macho men” as she was impressed by their skills.

She continued: “They even cook. Hunter-gatherers. The women are just…we are just here to bear children at this point. That’s it, I love it here.”
Although Nella was laughing as she made the remarks, suggesting she could’ve been joking, many fans weren’t thrilled with her comments.
@_csjoker said: “#ImaCeleb Imagine if guys were saying that – the girls should be cooking, they would be branded sexist and probably cancelled.”
@Th3uns33nn1nja added: “Is Nella making a sexist comment? Add that to the list of annoying and stupid stuff she’s done.”
@thfctomm commented: “Imagine if one of the guys started saying the s**t Nella just said but about women. Everything she just said is sexist, ignorant and is the reason so many men struggle with opening up due to this ideal ‘macho man’. Disgusting.”
@maxcpfc21 tweeted: “Nella purely being sexist on national tv. If that was a man saying that….”
@ffionlewis97 shared: “Nella is sexist. If the men had said that about women, she’d be so angry at them.”
@NaomiDTK said: “I properly hate the sexism in the #ImACelebrity camp. Not painting women in a good light at all with all this bulls**t. “Real men” is a toxic idea too. Real men come in many forms. #ImaCeleb #nellarose #misandry.”
However, @tabithakdorcas enjoys the duo’s dynamic as they tweeted: “I love Nella & Josie [sic].”
