James Bond star breaks silence on considering returning to 007 series
No Time To Die: Billy Magnussen speaks to the Daily Express
Over the past couple of years, the drama surrounding the next James Bond film has continued to hot up.
After Daniel Craig stepped down from the role of 007 following No Time To Die, the future of the franchise has been left up in the air.
Bond bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson have remained relatively quiet on what’s going on with the next movie, so fans have been left in the dark.
With that said, one of the major James Bond stars from the past five films, Jeffrey Wright, has just opened up about his future in the series.
Speaking with Deadline, Wright was asked about making a return as his character Felix Leiter: “If there’s a ‘ghost of Felix Leiter’ moment, then I’ll certainly consider doing that.”
James Bond fans will no doubt recall Leiter’s tragic death during the events of No Time To Die.
Logan Ash was working as a double agent for Safin and eventually got the drop on Leiter and Bond in a small boat. The CIA agent was shot by Ash, and Bond was forced to watch his friend die.
But, Wright went on to say that he would be just as content never rejoining the franchise, as he felt he did some great work.

Wright said: “At the same time, I had a great run on those films, together with Daniel [Craig], [producers] Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson and I’m very happy to let that be.”
On joining the series in the first place, he added: “I’d never expected to be a part of that franchise. I was an enormous geeky fan of the Bond films as a kid, as many of us were.
“I’m completely satisfied with what we did there. I’m happy to move on and let someone else be part of it.”
At the time of writing, the next James Bond star is still completely unknown. But there are some promising odds suggesting it could be a massive British icon.
Coral just slashed Idris Elba’s odds on becoming James Bond after the trailer for his new thriller series Hijack was released.
The betting agency cut his odds in half from 14/1 to 7/1 putting him in the upper echelons of the Bond odds alongside favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
