Jennifer Aniston snubs Emmy Awards despite Friends: The Reunion nomination

Jennifer Aniston will not be attending this year’s Emmy Awards despite being nominated for Friends: The Reunion.

The Hollywood A-lister chatted to US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel about the upcoming awards ceremony.

The 52-year-old star admitted she was taking “baby steps” out of quarantine after following strict lockdown restrictions.

Jennifer has been outspoken about the Covid-19 pandemic and has been a keen supporter of the vaccine.

The actress appeared on the US chat show to promote the upcoming second series of The Morning Show.

The host congratulated Jennifer on her Emmy nomination for Friends: The Reunion before the ceremony on Sunday.

When he asked the Marley & Me actress if she would be attending the glitzy bash, she firmly responded: “No, I will not be going.”

However, she said that the reunion’s “incredible” producer Ben Winston will be attending the Emmy’s, which is set to be hosted by Cedric The Entertainer.

Jennifer continued: “This is a big step for me to just be here. I'm just like baby steps.”

Last year’s Emmy Awards was hosted by Jimmy at the iconic Staples Center in LA.

There was no audience in the crowd with no in-person activities.

This year’s proceeding will see the celeb bash move outside and will overlook LA.

Friends: The Reunion was a huge success when it finally air in May.

However, it was pushed back multiple times due to the ongoing pandemic.

The show, which saw all six of its main stars reunite for a one-off special earned them four Emmy nominations.

They included Outstanding Variety Special, Production Design, Lighting Design and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special.

It comes as Jennifer shared to her millions of followers on Instagram that she was “fully vaccinated” with two jabs.

Alongside a throwback photo of the star from a Variety photo shoot in 2019, Jennifer captioned the picture: “Fully vaccinated and it feels soooo good.

“We are extremely lucky and privileged to have access to Covid-19 vaccines in the US right now.

“Unfortunately, that’s not the case everywhere… and as we know, the health of one of us affects all of us.

“Thinking about those who do not or will not have the opportunity to get vaccinated and hug their friends and family. See more in my bio for ways to help those who need it during this crisis.”
