Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? returned on Saturday night for another instalment, where successful fastest finger first contestants got the chance to play for a life-changing sum of money. One contestant, Helen Mobin, was hot on Jeremy Clarkson’s heels during her round as she continued to “insult” Jeremy’s knowledge.
As the game continued to heat up, Helena had already used her 50/50 lifeline, her phone a friend lifeline and ask the audience lifeline by the time it came to play for £16,000.
Entering the round, her question was: “An orb with a cross and a surrounding planetary ring is the logo of which fashion brand?”
The options that she had to choose from were Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood or Louis Vuitton.
Looking at her options, Helena expressed: “So it’s not Louis Vuitton, absolutely not, that is the classic LV. Stella McCartney, I do not know their logo, I am afraid.
“So it’s going to be between Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. I am so sure that it is Vivienne Westwood.
“An orb with a cross and a surrounding planetary ring? Oh, actually, no I don’t think so, OK. Yes, I do think so, oh dear.
“I am not going to ask you, I don’t feel like you are dripping in Vivienne Westwood, you could be. Sorry,” she teased.
Laughing at her brash remark, Jeremy quipped: “I have to keep a straight face at this point, of course.”
“I’m gonna go with Vivienne Westwood, final answer!” she finally revealed after plenty of back and forth guessing.
After watching her go back and forth, Jeremy admitted: “Quite a bit of a yes, no, maybe, yes, no. Yes, that’s the right answer!
“I am a bit hurt, and we shall discuss how hurt I am and how much Vivienne Westwood I’m wearing while everyone out there takes a break.
“Louis Vuitton suitcase, you know, the brand with the… I always want to hit them on the head with it.”
As Helena went into the next round with just one lifeline left, she took another cheeky swipe at the ITV host.
The next question read: “Which of these is a nickname of the house plant ‘Aspidistra’? A. Cast-iron plant, B. Swiss cheese plant, C. Spider plant, D. Mother-in-law’s tongue.”
Immediately, Helena admitted: “No clue. Should I use my final lifeline? I really don’t feel like you know this. I really hope you know this. Let’s use the lifeline. I’m gonna ask the host.”
Jeremy replied: “Ok, here is what I think. I haven’t got a clue. Not interested, I can’t… I somehow can’t learn about flowers or trees.
“They won’t go in my head. And that, I’m afraid is my final answer.”
She realised that she didn’t know the answer and was conscious that she would lose out on a large sum of money and decided to take the £16,000 she had banked.
Pleased she took the money, Jeremy added: “Helena Mobin, you are leaving here with £16,000. Except, of course, you’re not.
“Because I’d just like to know if you’d have decided to throw caution to the wind, what would you have gone for?”
Helena explained: “Just purely on the spelling, I would’ve done spider plant,” to which Jeremy exclaimed: “Ok, if you’d have done that, you’d have lost £8,000.
“It has been fun watching you burn through your lifelines at high speed!” Jeremy teased before saying goodbye to Helena.
Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? airs Saturday from 8pm on ITV.
