Jessa Duggar attacks fan who claims her son Spurgeon, 6, looks 'sad & lonely' in new photo of him being homeschooled
JESSA Duggar attacked a fan who claimed her son Spurgeon, six, looks “sad and lonely” in a new photo of him being homeschooled.
The 29-year-old clapped back at the critic in the comments section of a new Instagram post.
Jessa took to Instagram on Monday to share a photo of Spurgeon sitting at a desk as he did schoolwork at home.
The Counting On alum captured her son writing, while his desk was placed behind a large potted tree in the family room as toys were spread across the floor.
Alongside the photo, Jessa wrote: “Too cool for school.”
Shortly after Jessa shared the photo, one fan took to the comments section to say he looked “so sad and lonely” in the picture.
Jessa stood up for her son as she responded: “You mean, peaceful and tranquil.”
However, others said Spurgeon looked studious and complimented the homeschool setup.

One person wrote: “That’s nice he has a window next to his desk and a big plant for fresh air.”
Another person wrote: “He's going to be such a smart boy! All your children are so smart with shining personalities. You're doing an awesome job.”
A third chimed in: “You can tell he is very smart because he can concentrate on something with other things going in around him. Great work, Spurgeon and his parents!”
In addition to Spurgeon, Jessa is also the mother to kids Henry, four, Ivy, two, and Fern, six months.
She shares all four of her kids with husband Ben Seawald, who she married in 2014.
While some fans accused Spurgeon of looking sad in the new photo, others called out Jessa's "messy home."
The photo featured a ton of Legos are on the floor as well as other toys, which is what some people decided to focus in on.
The post was shared on Reddit, with one person writing: "That room is a mess."
Another added: "Everyone knows kids are messy. But JFC tidy up a bit before posting on Instagram. I would be mortified if anyone thought I lived in a pig sty."
A third chimed in: "I will never understand why she doesn’t throw all that detritus and mess into a damn shopping bag and move it out of the shot before posting to hundreds of thousands of followers."
'REAL LIFE MESS'
Jessa's new photo is not the first time that fans have noticed the Counting On alum's cleaning habits.
Back in February 2020, she shared a house tour video on YouTube where some noted that the ex TV star didn't tidy up before prior to filming.
The clip – which earned praise from a few fans for keeping it "real"- featured unmade beds, unflushed toilets and toys strewn about.
However, Jessa didn't ignore the mess either and actually pointed out: "This is our messy house."
She added: "We'll do another house tour when it's cleaned up. First we're gonna do a real life messy house."
